Guidelines for Selection as a State Tournament Referee

 

An official must be registered and in good standing with TSSAA. 

 

An official must be registered and in good standing with MTSOA. 

 

An official must officiate matches in the current season and be able to officiate district playoffs, regional and sub-state matches. 

 

An official must have been with the association and officiating games for at least one year. 

 

An official will not be considered to attend the State Tournament if they have attended with MTSOA or any other Tennessee association in the past year. (Example: An official who officiated in the fall of 2017 would not be considered until the spring of 2019.)

 

Officials will be asked at the start of the season (February and July) to officiate at the State Tournament for MTSOA and is required to block off the dates.

 

Alternate officials will be asked if they may be interested in attending the State Tournament and be put on a backup list in case of the loss of an official that has previously accepted State Tournament assignment. (Attending last season’s State Tournament is acceptable for an alternate official.)
